Dr. Valarie Jerome is an optometrist, entrepreneur, and advocate for whole-person eye care.

Dr Jerome obtained her Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University in Georgia and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. After graduation, she worked in Virginia at her own practice, in Florida in a low vision practice, and in Georgia in her hometown area.

Dr Jerome has also worked for many years in the UK — where she founded her own independent practice, a clinic built on the belief that eye care should be personal, compassionate, and never rushed.
With years of experience both as a locum, a private practitioner, and a business owner, Dr. Jerome understands that every patient’s story is unique. Over the years, she has blended advanced diagnostic technology with genuine one-to-one care, offering everything from comprehensive eye exams, color overlay assessments for visual stress, and precision vision correction to her signature Eye Spa treatments for dry eye.

Recognized nationally for her leadership and innovation, Dr. Jerome was named one of the UK’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain for her contribution to independent healthcare and community well-being. Dr. Jerome served on the Association of Optometrists Council, where she helped to promote the profession of optometry and represented optometrists from her region in the UK.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Jerome continues her mission to help others see, feel, and live their best through her podcast, Eye Got You — a space where she shares clear, compassionate insights into eye health, wellness, and self-care for people with busy lives.

Community and compassion are at the heart of everything she does. Dr. Jerome started a charity vision clinic serving the homeless and vulnerable in her town in the UK in 2021, has provided vital eyecare and vision assistance with refugee programs over the years, and mentors young professionals entering the field of optometry. Dr. Jerome also served as a director of the Newbury Business Improvement District (BID), where she worked to promote her town of Newbury, Berkshire, UK, and support other local businesses.

Currently spending time in both the USA and UK, Dr. Jerome has a commitment to spend time with family on both sides of the pond — something she is just as passionate about as eyes. In addition to spending time with family, Dr. Jerome enjoys pottery, strength training, being with friends, and fur babies.

Whether she’s behind the exam chair, behind the mic, or out in the community, Dr. Jerome leads with empathy, expertise, and heart — reminding us all that when it comes to your eyes and your well-being, she’s got you.
